Social media, yikes. I’ve plunged into this realm falling, grasping tree roots and splatting on the floor of the rabbit hole. Adjusting to the other worldly light, skirting a tidy table set for tea, I have taken stock, finding a wondrous world.

For writers, the social network is a necessity. After the thrill of publishing a book, the realization hits. Now I have to promote my story….. We take a giant step and plunge.

For me, after some tentative forays into the various forms of social media, I’ve noticed a broadening of skills, and have eagerly begun to explore this vast realm of information, entertainment and connections. This is absolutely a step by step process, and I have so much to learn. What has been comforting, as well as encouraging, is joining with the ranks of other writers who also must unravel this process.

We have all tumbled into this realm much like Alice. Each discovery is an eye opener. Mistakes are made and in-roads gained. I’ve found that, along with myself, others struggle to grasp the etiquette, expectations, and navigational tools to successfully engage in social media. I have often sat at my computer and thought, yeah, but HOW do I actually do that?

For example, How do I share a link? For most this is an easy process, but I couldn’t find any instructions. Someone on face book very kindly shared this information. You have to type the entire address….https://www.the name.com How simple is that?

As I unravel more mysteries, I shall be happy to share. Check out other writer’s blogs. They are a generous community.

Cheers, Lee
